Rebuiding house for earthquake victims - Focusing mainly on poor and widows of Gatlang VDC

Project Area:          Gatlang VDC, Rasuwa District

Rebuilding Project started immediately after disastrous and catestrophic earthquake that hit Nepal on 25 April 2015. The project focused on rebuilding Earthquake Resilient houses for the victims of Gatlang Village in Rasuwa District. The main beneficiaries included poor and widow women.

 

Project Outcomes

  • Built 10 earthquake resilient houses for poor and widow women
  • 10 poor families got a roof overhead to stay. Altogether 50 villagers benefitted.
  • The houses were built reflecting local cultural values. The design was later replicated by the government in other areas of Rasuwa district
